Hunger! It's a word we hear all the time, but it's so much more than a physical hunger for food. Hunger is about feeling helpless and hopeless—like you can't do anything about it and there's nothing you can do to help. And that's exactly what we're trying to change with this fundraiser: It's about helping people who are hungry feel less hopeless. In anticipation of World Hunger Day 2022 (October 16th), we at Giving Back To Community are organizing our first fundraising event to fight against hunger. In New York alone, there are 367 million more meals in the year that low-income families need but don’t have, according to a recent report. In an effort to solve this challenge, we at Giving Back To Community are organizing an event to raise funds to open up a Food Pantry in Elmont. The event will be held on September 29th at The INN at New Hyde Park, 214 Jericho Turnpike, New Hyde Park, NY 11040 between 6:00pm to 10:30pm EST. The details of the event are below: - 1 ticket will cost $100, with all proceeds going towards opening up a Food Pantry in Elmont. - The food pantry is estimated to cost $10,000 and will be run by volunteers from local churches and schools. It will provide free food for residents of Elmont who are hungry or low income. What’s included?! All participants receive, included in cost of registration: RSVP HERE USING THIS LINK
